In order to better understand the diverse needs in Ohio’s communities, the Office of Community Development (OCD) took a comprehensive look at how programs are implemented and solicited stakeholder input to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the programs; improve program impact; and fulfill the Agency‘s mission to strengthen Ohio’s communities by enhancing the competitive assets of the state – its people, land, infrastructure, applied technology and efficiency of government.
The Office of Community Development (OCD) administers Community and Economic Development, Affordable Housing, and Homelessness and Supportive Housing programs for the state of Ohio. These pr ograms are funded primarily with federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Partnerships Investment Program (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) resources.
As a recipient of federal funding, the Agency is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to prepare an annual Ohio Consolidated Plan to govern administration of these dollars.
